How to Use the Database Configuration Assistant (DBCA) to Create Databases in Oracle 12c

Install and Configure 12c Database for New ERP Clients (Like SAP ERP, Dynamic AX ERP)

The database configuration assistant (DBCA) used in Oracle 12c has a lot of screens with all kinds of information. The following steps take you through the process:

You do not need multiple databases to run different applications. Instead, you can separate the objects that support each different application into different schemas in the same database. However, there may be situations in which you want to create multiple Oracle databases on the same host computer. When you do this with DBCA, the new databases typically use the same Oracle home directory as the first database, but store database data files separately from those of the first database.

Need to connect with oracle user

[root@12c ~]# su oracle

Go to oracle bin directory inside your default database

[oracle@12c ~]$ echo $ORACLE_HOME;

[oracle@12c ~]$ cd /u01/app/oracle/product/12.2.0/dba_1/bin

Inside the bin directory

[oracle@12c bin]$ ls

Using DBCA to Create and Configure a Database

[oracle@12c bin]$ ./dbca

Sometime we have faced the issues

Proxy unsupported

[oracle@12c ~]$ export DISPLAY=:0

[oracle@12c ~]$ xhost +SI:localuser:oracle

[oracle@12c bin]$ ./dbca

After dbca commands new window will be appear like this

So here we can check the database and recovery area

After the check the summery

If we like to save Response file just click over it

After finish the summery we will going to create database and pluggable database

After the successfully install we will get the window like this

Password management and if we wish to change the default password so we can check here

So now we can check the new configure client database, it’s reflecting
